Simee Dimmeh Summit
Usually there really is nothing attractive about
this summit, at least not when compared to all the
other climbs in the area. When I crossed it, the
Pine Nut Range on the east side was burning (see
pictures). I still would not call this attractive,
but it was unusually interesting. This summit is
also part of a possible one day loop over Monitor Pass.
It connects Antelope Valley with Carson Valley

Approaches
From South. - A long shallow climb on
busy US395, north of Topaz Lake. The road is
rumble stripped but there is a very spacious
shoulder, that allows easily staying out of
traffic, except for the section with the passing
lane
From North. Equally long and shallow
descent into Gardnerville. The good shoulder stays
all the way into town. Again the shoulder has been
sacrificed for a passing lane in the climbing
direction.
